How to Save Instagram Audio for Video Editing on Premiere Pro

Learn the workflow for extracting high-quality audio from Instagram for use in professional NLE software.

How to Save Instagram Audio for Video Editing on Premiere Pro

Professional video editors don't edit in the Instagram app. They use Non-Linear Editors (NLEs) like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

If a client asks you to edit a video to match a specific trending Instagram audio track, you need a way to get that audio file into your timeline.

The Problem with Screen Recording

If you screen record the Instagram Reel on your phone and AirDrop it to your Mac, you are dealing with compressed audio (usually AAC at a low bitrate) and variable frame rates, which can cause timeline headaches in Premiere.

The CoraClip Workflow

CoraClip allows you to pull the highest-quality source file available.

  1. Get the Link: Have the client send you the link to the Instagram Reel that contains the desired audio.
  2. Download the Source: Paste the link into CoraClip. Download the MP4 file to your editing drive.
  3. Import to Premiere: Drag the MP4 directly into your Premiere Pro project bin.
  4. Extract Audio: Drag the file onto your timeline. Right-click the clip, select Unlink, and delete the video track. You are now left with the high-quality audio track ready for editing!

This method ensures perfect audio fidelity and prevents the sync issues common with screen recordings.
