How to Save YouTube Community Posts Images
YouTube is no longer just a video hosting site; it has evolved into a fully functional social platform. In the Community Tab, creators can share text updates, run polls, post GIFs, and share high-resolution photos or promotional graphics with their subscribers.
However, saving an image from a YouTube Community post is not as simple as right-clicking. Here is the step-by-step workflow to download these images at original quality.
Downloading on Desktop (Windows/Mac)
- Locate the Community Post: Find the post containing the image you want to save.
- Open the Image in a New Tab: Right-click the image and select Open Image in New Tab.
- Edit the URL (Crucial Step): Look at the address bar of the new tab. The URL will end with something like
=w1060-fcrop64=1,00000000ffffffff-nd-v1. Delete this entire parameter from the end of the URL and hit Enter. This loads the raw, uncompressed image. - Save Image: Right-click and choose Save Image As to save the clean JPG or PNG.
Downloading on Mobile (iPhone/Android)
If you are using a phone, the YouTube app doesn't let you right-click. Follow this method:
- Copy Post Link: Tap the three dots on the Community post and select Share -> Copy Link.
- Open in Browser: Paste the link into Google Chrome or Safari.
- Request Desktop Site: Toggle your mobile browser settings to "Request Desktop Site".
- Save: Long-press the image and tap Download Image to save it to your gallery.
